WHO WE ARE

We are an International Community of Catholic Religious living in Chicago who belong to the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles - Scalabrinians.

We are migrants preparing to serve the migrants as missionaries through a community experience of study, prayer, pastoral experience...

WHAT WE BELIEVE

That Jesus is present in the needy (migrants and refugees).

We believe that we are called by God through the Gospel to welcome and to serve the migrants and refugees.

God is expressing his will to us through the charism and spirituality of the Congregation founded by Bishop John Baptist Scalabrini.

We are called to uphold the rights of migrants.

In our community experience we believe that we enrich each other by our differences in culture, traditions and personality. In doing so, we prepare ourselves toward an effective ministry to migrants.

We believe that our religious consecration of obedience, poverty and chastity is a powerful witness to the people we serve.

WHERE WE ARE GOING

To study disciplines that will make us more effective ministers to migrants (.eg. Theology, Sociology, Psychology, Pastoral and Political Sciences, Languages, etc.)

To promote anything that facilitates the understanding and sharing of talents, personal stories, cultures and traditions, ideals, etc.

To work together to reach a common decision and see it as a result of the presence of Jesus among us.

To deepen the knowledge of our Scalabrinian charism and spirituality

To promote initiatives that keep us in contact with the reality of migrants and refugees in the world.
